2016 Concerts

Our first stop was a two-week intensive as tutors at the YMS Summer School in Canberra. This included an evening concert on Tuesday 19th January at Canberra Grammar School Dining Hall. In this concert we performed a dreamy Fauré movement, the powerful Shostakovich quintet and a passionate Pejačević movement.

The second performance was at The Hamilton Club on Sunday 20th March where we introduced prolific female composer Grażyna Bacewicz's Piano Quintet No. 1 into a sparkling program also including Shostakovich and Franck.

On Sunday 10th July, 3-5pm we performed a French and American inspired program at Galston Uniting Church (Sydney). Galston is the special place where we performed our first ever concert together. This program included Fauré's Piano Quintet No. 1, Barber's String Quartet Op. 11 Adagio, Polish composer Grażyna Bacewicz's Piano Quintet No. 1, Franck's Piano Quintet in F Minor Movement 1 and Copeland's Two Pieces for String Quartet.

Our final concert for the year was the 'I Will Stand Fast: Concert for Lifeline' on Sunday 4th December at All Saints Anglican Church (Canberra). Here we were joined by guest violinist Anna Murakawa as we performed Fauré's Piano Quintet No. 2 and Arvo Pärt's Spiegel im Spiegel alongside the Strange Weather Gospel Choir. All performers were on stage for free and this fabulous gala fundraiser resulted in a donation to Lifeline Canberra. Check us out on Facebook @forayquintet for pictures of the event!

Past Events: 2015 Concert Series 'Vatra'

We presented a fiery concert series featuring the works of Dmitri Shostakovich (Piano Quintet in G Minor, Op. 57) and the rarely heard Croatian composer Dora Pejačević (Piano Quintet in B minor, Op. 40), first presenting some of the program in Sydney (January) before touring Victoria - Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo (April) and ACT/NSW Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle (September).

Past Events: 2014 Concert Series 'Gabriel Fauré's Piano Quintets

In our premier year we performed both of Gabriel Fauré's dreamy Piano Quintets across the ACT/NSW (April) and Victoria (September).
